BRS broker honoured at Cargo Day event in Singapore

During a Cargo Day event in Singapore, Oliver Mead-Briggs of BRS Singapore was recognised for donating more cargoes than any other broker worldwide during the 2024 Mercy Ships Cargo Day campaign — both in number and value.
At the event, held at the city’s historic Cricket Club on 3 September, Mead-Briggs received a plaque from Mercy Ships’ Rick Menzies and shared his surprise at the honour:
I wasn’t expecting to be recognised like this, but I hope it inspires other brokers to step forward.
Cargo Day has grown from a one-day event into a global month-long fundraising movement, uniting the shipping and trading community. Over the past 10 years, the initiative has raised more than $15 million, including $2.2 million in 2024, to support Mercy Ships’ two hospital vessels — the Global Mercy and the Africa Mercy — which provide free, life-changing surgeries and medical training in Africa.
The next Cargo Day will begin on 5 November 2025.
