Singapore Shipping Community Comes Together Ahead of Cargo Day 2026

On 3 September, Ampol’s Scott Moncrieff welcomed around 80 brokers, charterers, shipowners and shipping professionals to the Singapore Cricket Club for an evening focused on Mercy Ships and Cargo Day.

Rick Menzies shared more about Mercy Ships’ work providing free surgical care while strengthening healthcare systems in countries where access to safe surgery is limited. He also explained how companies in the shipping and trading community can get involved through Cargo Day.

The evening also featured Hsien, a prominent Singaporean anaesthetist, who shared her personal experience volunteering with Mercy Ships and gave guests an insight into what it means to be part of the organisation’s work.

A live connection with the Africa Mercy in Toamasina, Madagascar, brought the work of Mercy Ships directly into the room and gave guests the opportunity to see and hear more about life on board.

The evening continued with a buffet and networking, giving guests the chance to exchange with colleagues and learn more about how the maritime community can contribute through Cargo Day.

A big thank you to Ampol, BRS, Clarksons and ST Shipping for supporting the event and bringing the Singapore shipping community together.

Cargo Day 2026 launches on 4 November, 2026.
